Privacy Policy — Catalyx

Effective date: July 7, 2026

Catalyx ("the app", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that audits a merchant's product catalog and helps the merchant act on the findings. This policy explains what data the app accesses, why, and how it is handled.

What data we access

When you install Catalyx, and only for the store that installs it, the app accesses:

How we use the data

Data is used solely to provide the app's functionality to you: auditing your catalog, showing reports and recommendations, and performing the actions you request (such as bulk edits, scheduled promotions and collection sorting). We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for marketing, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where data is stored

Data is stored securely on our infrastructure provider (Railway) in a PostgreSQL database, and is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We retain the results of your latest scans and your settings only for as long as the app is installed.

Data retention and deletion

When you uninstall Catalyx, we automatically delete your store's data (scans, issues, settings and price-update history) via Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks. Because we do not store any customer personal data, the customers/redact and customers/data_request webhooks are acknowledged with no data to return or erase; the shop/redact webhook triggers deletion of your store's data.

Subprocessors

We rely on the following providers to run the service: Shopify (the platform and APIs) and Railway (application hosting and database). These providers process data only to host and operate the app.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your store's data at any time by contacting us. Uninstalling the app also deletes your data as described above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the latest version.
